SESSION ONE (JULY 10 - 14) IS NOW SOLD OUT!

Our Discovering Strings+Art Camp is a great way to introduce your elementary student to all that music and visual art have to offer. With a focus on playing violin or cello, students will lay the foundation to play an instrument - it’s amazing what skills they can learn in just a week! Ignite their creativity and strengthen academic skills with a wide variety of fun activities including singing, music & movement, an introduction to each member of the string instrument family, painting, collage, collaborative 3D projects, and more.

Each day we will enjoy open recreation time with games and integrative S.T.E.A.M. activities, so your budding artist will experience all the advantages that the arts have to offer. Families can share in the fun at the Camp Concert and Showcase, held on the final afternoon of each session.

All are welcome and there's no experience necessary to join in the fun! This camp experience will start kids off on a creative journey in music and art that will last a lifetime.

SAMPLE DAY SCHEDULE:

8:45 a.m. - Gathering Time
9:30 a.m. - Small Group Instructional Time on Violin or Cello
10:30 a.m. - Snack
10:50 a.m. - Guided Art Activity
11:45 a.m. - Lunch
12:30 p.m. - Small Group Instruction on Violin or Cello
1:15 p.m. - Group Project
2:00 p.m. - Recess/Recreation Time
2:30 p.m. - Music and Movement Activity and/or Guest Musician
3 p.m. - Visual Art Activity
3:40 p.m. - Wrap-Up Review and Clean-Up
4 p.m. - Student Pick-Up

INSTRUMENTS
Instruments for Discovering Strings Camp are generously provided by the Baroque Violin Shop. During registration, you will be asked for your child’s arm measurement. Directions for getting the correct measurement are at https://www.violinist.com/blog.

END OF CAMP MINI-CONCERT
The students will showcase what they have learned and created this week in a mini-concert on the last day of camp. The showcase will begin at 3:00 p.m. More information will be sent out the week of the camp.

SUZUKI METHOD

PREREQUISITES
Open to children with no prior violin/cello experience as well current Pre-Twinkle Suzuki students.

COST
$325 + $25 Registration Fee
