Outreach Programs

Arts+ is partnering with Do Greater Charlotte to teach middle school students how to design, make, and sell their own products! Do you dream of owning your own business, making amazing t-shirts, or accessories? Then this free 11-week program is perfect for you! 

Over the course of this afterschool program, middle school students will learn to develop and physically create their own products to sell. Students will begin the program by being introduced to industry standard programs such as Procreate for the iPad to design images and logos. Local artists will show students how to create quality designs and then translate an image intoproducts such as buttons, prints, stickers, and shirts. After designing and finalizing a product, participants will learn how to price products and make sales by creating their own internet storefront as well as setting up a booth for markets. The program will culminate with a presentation and celebration with family and friends where the community can hear business plans and students will have the opportunity to make their first sales!

Class begins at 4:00 PM but early drop off begins at the location starting at 3:00 PM. Pickup is available through Do Greater at: Ashley Park, Movement, Renaissance West Steam Academy, and Thomasboro Academy. No class on 4/3. Early release drop off is available on 3/13 for CMS Early Release day.
