In this studio class, students will discover their passion for filmmaking. Using Canon DSLR cameras, they’ll shoot their own short films and learn the fundamentals of directing, acting, and bringing original scenes to life. Students will experiment with lighting, sound, and audio design, and camera techniques inside our own Studio 345 studio. Using industry-standard video equipment and software, such as Adobe Premiere, students will learn to turn their content into a dynamic and high-quality production.

DRESS CODE

Film students may spend some time outside so please dress appropriately. We prefer sneakers or foot-hugging sandals that are safe for the studio and outdoor activities. Please, no flip flips. All clothing should be machine washable.

PARKING AND ARRIVAL

Arts+ Uptown Studios (601 E. 5th St.): Drop off is from 3:30-4 p.m. Arts+ Studio 345 employees will wait on the sidewalk in front of the building entrance to guide your student from the car into the building during the first week. If you arrive for drop off after 4 p.m., you will need to park and bring your student into the building. Students will be dismissed at 5:30 p.m. and must be picked up by 5:45 p.m. If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, please notify the Studio 345 Office at 704.248.3769.

For students who drive, parking can be accessed via the lot on 5th street (which is a one way street) just past the front entrance of the building. The lot can also be accessed on N. Alexander St. The arm for the parking lot will raise as you enter. Parking is free and you do not need a code to enter. Simply go to the gate and press the green exit button.
