In this 6 week course, participants will learn about the tools and materials used to create flat mosaic designs. Using found and repurposed ceramics and other objects, students will create their own designs that can be applied to flat surfaces. The methods explored in the class are suitable for table top surfaces, tiles, stepping stones, and other flat objects. The class will go over safety guidelines, tile cutting tools, mortars, grouts, and transfer methods for tiles. No prior experience is needed!

During the course of the class students will make:

• A mosaic tile
• A mosaic design on mesh to be applied to a 3D form
