Tom Thoune

Alongside a 20-year textile career, Tom Thoune maintained a fine art practice which he focuses on today; he is currently a multi-multimedia artist in both 2D and 3D. Tom spent the past 10 years creating public art: The Charlotte Light Rail (East-West station), the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department on Wendover and the Harris Teeter on Central are a few places to see his local public mosaic work. Tom has taught workshops and college courses since 1986 at various institutions of learning including CPCC, McColl Center for Art + Innovation, and Arts+. He is a recent recipient of an ASC Creative Renewal Fellowship and has the pleasure to be the current guest artist for The Arts Empowerment Program.
