Laser Cutting 101
Workshop Description
Are you an artist interested in learning ways to incorporate laser cutting into your art? Or a beginner interested in learning about laser cutters and gaining new skills? This 6-week workshop will introduce you to software, file creation, and how to use a laser cutter safely.
Participants will learn what an SVG file is, why it's needed, and how to prep a file for laser cutting for any future projects. Programs such as Inkscape, Photoshop and Illustrator will be explored.
During the course of this program participants will design a custom miniature window frame using digital software, design the inside of the pane, and combine the layers for a 3D effect. The finished art will be assembled and ready for hanging in your window or sitting on display.
Watch your digital art become tangible!
