Exploring Piano and Guitar

Class Description

Curious about learning an instrument but not sure where to start? This 6-week class gives students a hands-on introduction to both piano and guitar! Students will learn foundational skills on each instrument such as basic finger patterns, beginning chord shapes, and simple strumming patterns. By the end of the class, students will be able to play starter chords on piano and guitar and perform short, simple songs. This course is the perfect entry point for the students considering private lessons or more advanced classes in the future. All equipment is provided.

PREREQUISITES  

None!     

INSTRUMENTS  

The piano portion will take place in our Keyboard Lab. For the guitar portion, students may use an Arts+ instrument or may bring their own for use. Arts+ instruments may not be taken home. Please contact the Arts+ Registration Team at registration@artsplus.org if you would like information on where to rent your own instrument.    

FINANCIAL AID  

  • Limited financial aid is available to qualifying families, processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
