Get Excited! Here’s What To Look Forward to in 2023-2024:

• A Soulful Holiday: CYC’s Winter Concert (Dec. 16th): We are collaborating with a local Charlotte R&B singer to celebrate the holiday season with gospel, R&B, and pop tunes, along with some holiday classics.
• Tour: Our older choirs will be going on an overnight regional tour in Spring 2024, and our younger choirs will have an exciting day trip tour planned for the spring!
• Our Voice: CYC’s Spring Concert (Apr. 27th): We are collaborating with a local theatre company to combine choir and acting as we give life to our singers’ dreams, ideas, and hopes! This will be a truly interactive experience with our students working alongside local Charlotte professional actors!
• NC Sings 2023: Returning to Duke University in October!
• Many more community engagements are in the works with festivals, retirement communities, and local events on the line-up.
• New for Melody Choir: Quarter-based registration!
• New for Registration: Arts+ has updated our tuition policy to require only 25% of tuition upfront rather than 50%. Then, payments are by default divided up monthly for the remainder of the year for those who want a payment plan option. Contact the Student Services Coordinator for customization assistance.
• Sliding Scale Tuition: As always, we have our Sliding Scale tuition available for any family so that CYC is accessible to all who love to sing in the city of Charlotte.

Accepting new singers! Charlotte Youth Choir accepts new singers on a rolling basis, so you can join at any time! We are happy to offer pro-rated tuition rates based on the time of joining. New singers inquire here!

Meet CYC!

The Charlotte Youth Choir (CYC) continues to celebrate 35+ years of choral excellence. Formerly the Charlotte Children’s Choir, CYC reflects the total student body makeup of the choir which spans kindergarten through twelfth grade. Renamed in 2021, CYC honors the significant growth and development of our performers' experience — in both talents and in life. Through the education of music and song, we continue to build a connected community and learn what it means to be excellent musicians and students. We are your Charlotte Youth Choir.

Who We Are

The Charlotte Youth Choir is first and foremost a family. Everything that we do is built on the foundation of caring deeply for each individual and encouraging them to be their best. Our singers are not a voice lost in a crowd — each singer is key to the success of the whole choir! We believe that building a community of singers should be our top priority. Through a committed and nurturing choir, each singer can be empowered to learn, grow, make beautiful music, and experience tremendous joy!

Our family is diverse. We’re bold. We’re achievers. We’re music lovers. We’re quirky. We’re confident together. We’re able to be ourselves without judgment. We’re encouragers. We’re supporters and cheerleaders for each other.

And as a family, we make incredible music. Through rehearsing and performing together, we learn to work together, see our voices grow, improve our music reading skills, and expand our understanding of the world. As a community, lives are changed — our own lives as well as those that we touch through our music!
