IDK Wet Cyanotype
Workshop Description
Cyanotype is one of the oldest forms of photography and produces stunning results! In this 3-hour workshop, students will learn a wet method of making Cyanotypes using plant material as the subject. We will use cyanotype chemistry in a very experimental and painterly way. Students will take home their cyanotype to finish processing at home and will learn all the steps needed to finish. All supplies included! No prior knowledge required but a willingness to try new materials and have fun is highly encouraged!
Students can expect to learn:
- The history of cyanotype
- The varieties of and differences in watercolor paper
- How to create non-traditional cyanotypes
- How to use additives in the cyanotype process
- How to tone papers with natural toners
