Group Classes and Workshops

Suzuki Workshop

Feb. 24

Workshop Description

All Suzuki violin, viola, cello, and harp students (pre-twinkle & up) are invited to a fun and energizing workshop! Participants will study with inspiring guest clinicians and play with fellow musicians from across the greater Charlotte area! This year’s workshop is a collaboration with the Charlotte Folk Society, and students can expect to have a lot of fun fiddling and jamming! Activities include a Master Class*, Old Time Fiddle Class, Repertoire Classes, Appalachian Dance Class, and a fun final Play-In and Fiddle Jam Concert!

Parents/caregivers of students aged 12 and under are expected to attend classes with their students. Students aged 13+ can attend on their own. Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch.

*What is a master class? Students will be grouped into small learning teams of similar age and level and each student will receive a lesson on a polished piece. Dr. Suzuki felt that we learn just as much from observing others as we do in our own lessons. All Full Day students will receive a master class as part of their registration. Half Day students may choose to add one to their day.
