Exploring Ukulele Camp is the perfect introduction for students interested in learning this fun instrument!   

Each day, students will explore the foundations of the ukulele, learning simple chords and strumming patterns, reading ukulele tablature, and playing basic melodies. We also mix in tons of games, teamwork activities, and art projects. The week will close out with a mini-performance of songs learned throughout the camp.

PREREQUISITES 

None! This camp is open to students with no ukulele experience as well as students who have already been playing. 

INSTRUMENTS 

• Arts+ has ukuleles that the students may borrow during the camp but cannot take home.  
• Campers may also bring their own ukulele to the camp. You can reach out to the Arts+ Registration Team with any questions you might have about the instrument.  
• We will be using Soprano Ukuleles, which are standard at approximately 20¾ or 21 inches in length. If you are bringing your own ukulele, make sure that you have the correct size, as some Sopranino or “Pocket” Ukuleles, which are commonly purchased at the store, are too small for our purposes, at approximately 16 inches in length. 

END OF CAMP MINI-CONCERT 

The students will showcase what they have learned and created this week in a mini-concert at 3:15 p.m. on the last day of camp.  

FINANCIAL AID 

• Limited financial aid is available to qualifying families, processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP 

• Monday Drop-Off and Registration need to have a parent/guardian come inside to fully check campers in. Friday Pick-Up will be after the student showcase, inside. 
• Park Road Baptist Church (3900 Park Rd):  Due to our location of camp on the campus, parents/guardians should park and walk to the Youth Building for drop-off and pick-up each day. We apologize for any inconvenience. 

LUNCH, SNACKS, AND WATER BOTTLES 

• Monday-Friday: Campers should bring their own lunch and a water bottle to camp. 
• Snacks and snack breaks will be provided during the daytime. 
• Our snacks include gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options. 
• Campers may also bring their own snacks, but please do not bring ANY food products with peanuts.
