Sarah Abushakra is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, a pianist, organist, choir director and choral musician in Charlotte, NC. Following thirteen years on the faculty of Coastal Carolina University’s music department, she now teaches piano at Winthrop University and from her home studio. She has served as music director and organist at various churches over the years. Her most recent appointment was as music director and organist at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Conway, SC from 2021-2025. Since moving to Charlotte this summer, she is enjoying joining the robust musical community this city has to offer, including accompanying the wonderful Charlotte Youth Choirs at Arts+! When she isn’t teaching or accompanying, she enjoys singing in several professional choirs— including Wilmington Voices, Caritas, and the North Carolina Choral Artists. Outside of music, she loves drinking coffee on her porch with her husband Andy, exploring new restaurants, spending time with her step kids Hunter, Jackson, and Kaia, and raising a rambunctious puppy named Biscuit.
