D.G. Brungard Foundation String Scholarship

The D.G. Brungard Foundation String Scholarship provides private music lessons to deserving strings students who would otherwise lack access to outstanding string instruction.

Program Description

Arts+ is deeply grateful to Kathleen and Donald G. Brungard for establishing the D.G. Brungard Foundation String Scholarship to provide private music lessons to deserving string students in financial need.

The Brungards are dedicated to the philosophy of "music for life" and wish to make that gift accessible to all students. The Brungard Scholarships were established in honor of Kathleen, who had a long career in public music education and private studio string teaching, to share the Brungards’ belief in and passion for music’s ability to lift and enrich all lives. The Brungards chose Arts+ as the vehicle for their Foundation gift because of the organization’s commitment to supporting underserved students and dedication to the highest quality of private string instruction. For the 2018–19 year, five students ranging in age from 8 to 17 have been awarded D.G. Brungard Foundation String Scholarships. Arts+ is honored to provide these dedicated and hardworking students private music lessons thanks to the Brungards' generosity and their passion for outstanding and accessible arts education.
