Charlotte Youth Choir (CYC)

NEW FOR MELODY CHOIR THIS YEAR

We know that signing a 5- or 6-year-old up for a full year of choir is a big ask! They are exploring their interests, finding out what they like, and have many other activities throughout the year competing for their after-school time. We have a new option to make it easier for our young singers to be a part of CYC — quarters!

Melody Choir will now have four stand-alone quarters. Sign up for one quarter (7-8 weeks) to try out being in a choir, or sign up for a full semester or year if you know that singing is their jam. Whatever works for your singer! At the end of each quarter, we will have a performance to showcase what they have learned. A discount is applied if you register for more than one quarter.

If you try out one quarter and want to stick around for the next, our Student Services Coordinator will help you roll over your registration so the singing never stops!

• Fall Quarter (September to October) — ends with a Melody Choir Showcase
• Holiday Quarters (November to December) — ends with the CYC Holiday Concert
• Winter Quarter (January to February) — ends with a community performance
• Spring Quarter (March to April) — ends with the CYC Spring Concert

Melody Choir is for our youngest singers! Singers Grades K-1 learn the foundations of being in a choir, exploring their voices, making friends, and having fun. No prior experience or musical know-how is required, as this is our training choir where we teach the basics of being a singer! Students also learn the fundamentals of reading music, developing their voices, and singing in a variety of styles and languages.

Our fall and spring end-of-semester concerts serve as an opportunity for these young voices to perform and showcase all they have learned.
