Over the course of this week-long afternoon camp experience, students will learn several methods for creating their own hand bound pages including: French-link stitch, kettlestitch, perfect binding, and coptic binding. Students will be able to decide on color schemes and decorative elements for covers and book interiors, ensuring their creations align with their personal aesthetics. This overview of book binding methods is excellent for those looking to expand their art skills, learn a new technique, or create their own journals and sketchbooks. 

All are welcome, and there's no experience necessary to join in on the fun! This camp will give students a set of skills and basic knowledge to bind their own books or customize books!

END OF CAMP ART SHOW 

The students will showcase what they have learned and created this week in a pop-up gallery show at 4 p.m. on the last day of camp.  

FINANCIAL AID 

• Limited financial aid is available to qualifying families, processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP 

• Monday Drop-Off and Registration need to have a parent/guardian come inside to fully check campers in. Friday Pick-Up will be after the student showcase, inside. 
• Ascend Nonprofit Solutions (601 E 5th St, Suite 230): Other than Registration and Friday’s showcase, drop-off and pick-up does not require the parent to walk their student in.  
• Parking can be accessed via the lot on 5th street (which is a one way street) just past the front entrance of the building. The lot can also be accessed on N Alexander St. The arm for the parking lot will raise as you enter. Parking is free and you do not need a code to enter or exit. If the lot is full, parking can be found on the surrounding streets at meters.
  When you enter the building, please sign in at the front desk using the iPads and enter ArtsPlus (Arts+) as the organization you are visiting. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor and make an immediate left.
  When you leave, please sign out at the front on the iPads. If you are parked in the parking lot, simply go to the gate and press the green exit button.
