Arts Access Continues

Back to News

The fall semester is underway at Arts+ — and things look different this year! Thankfully, with the help of our creative programs team, we are able to offer a mix of virtual and limited in-person programming this semester.

We are holding our mission of high-quality and accessible arts education at the center of everything we do. This is reflected in our commitment to serve our community partners through our outreach programs, even during this uncertain time. We know that those with little access to an arts education deserve to explore their creative side just as much as the rest of our community.

That’s why, this fall, we are continuing our outreach programs in a digital capacity. For example, our Project Harmony strings program will have core classes over Zoom with small group sessions as well as special interest sessions. Our ArtsReach program participants will also receive instruction over Zoom with a variety of fun music and visual art projects to stay engaged at home. Arts+ will continue our Arts for All preschool program over Zoom as well as curate art and music supplies to be delivered to each preschool to then distribute to students. Regardless of the situation, we are focusing on the unique needs of the communities we serve and providing digital programming that best aligns with their needs.

We are so grateful to our staff and instructors for their hard work in adapting these programs for the fall and ensuring everyone in Mecklenburg County has access to a high-quality arts education.
