Nia Williams Reyes

A Charlotte native, Nia Williams Reyes is the collaborative pianist for the Harmony and Lyric Choirs of Charlotte Youth Choir. She received her Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Salem College in 2014 with Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink as her piano professor. Nia graduated with a Master of Music in collaborative performance from Houghton College in May 2016 with Dr. Sharon Johnson as her collaborative piano professor.

During her time at Houghton College, Nia was the assistant coach for the Houghton Lyric Theater's production of Bastien and Bastienna; accompanist for the Women's Ensemble and Combined Choirs; the head coach of the Phantom of the Opera; and performed in many recitals, master classes, and concerts.

After completing her Master’s degree, Nia taught group piano classes, accompanied voice students, and taught Music Appreciation at Central Piedmont Community College. She also accompanied the Charlotte Contemporary Ensemble, Winthrop University, and worked at the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra as the Choral/Musicianship Instructor and Site Coordinator at Winterfield Elementary School.

In May 2018, Nia completed a Professional Artist Certificate (PAC) in collaborative piano with Dr. Allison Gagnon as her collaborative piano professor. She is currently accompanying the Men’s Ensemble at University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and at Wingate University, she is accompanying the Men’s and Advanced Women’s Ensembles vocalists and teaching piano.
