Mary Lou Hindley

Mary Lou Hindley, from Washington, D.C., studied piano performance at Denison University. She was a student of Mabes Imhoff and Dr. Conradi at the Peabody Conservatory. She has served as a member of the Friday Morning Music Club of Washington, D.C., the Potomac Area Music Teachers’ Association, and the National Guild of Student Musicians and is currently a member of the Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum. Mary Lou has been teaching for more than 40 years and has spent 30 of them as a piano faculty member with Arts+. It was through the instruction of Mabes Imhoff that her dedication of bringing the gift of music to children was instilled. While she is passionate about all classical music, she is partial to J.S. Bach and enjoys teaching his compositions in her studio. In addition to her piano teaching, Mary Lou has been "Ms. Baba" the storyteller to thousands of CMS children in grades K-2. She has recently published her first children's book.
