Anne Grady

Dr. Grady has made a meaningful contribution to music education and performance in the Charlotte area for more than 30 years. As a conductor of string orchestra ensembles and a dedicated K–5 general music, guitar, and ukulele teacher, she strives to empower young musicians to become their own best teachers. Her freelance career as a violinist has included touring with pop artists, supporting her studies as a string quartet graduate assistant, and performing with symphony, opera, and pit orchestras across a wide range of repertoire.

An ardent music educator, Dr. Grady has inspired students through collaborations with guest artists, conducted combined choral and orchestral works, and commissioned new pieces by noted composers. She embraces innovative multimedia techniques to create programmatic performances. In addition to teaching and conducting student ensembles, she has taught AP Music Theory earning recognition as an AP Reader. Dr. Grady also designed a curriculum for her high school-aged exceptional children’s music program.

Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Grady holds multiple performance degrees: a BM from The Peabody Institute in Baltimore, a MM from Butler University in Indianapolis, and a DMA and Master of Music Education from the University of South Carolina-Columbia. In 2003, she received National Board Certification in Early and Young Adult Music Education.

Dr. Grady enjoys working in her garden, hiking, and traveling with family.
