Summer at Studio

Film & Visual Arts: Grades 10-12

In-Person

Class Description

During this summer program, students discover their love for storytelling and visual art. In film class, each student is provided the tools to make their ideas come to life. Whether through live-action narratives or stop motion claymation, students learn how to write a script, shoot and compose a scene and edit a film. Access to industry standard equipment and software, along with mentorship from working professionals, help to develop the students’ skills and create a pathway to becoming the next award-winning indie filmmakers.

The creativity then flows over into their Mixed Media art class where students explore a variety of mediums from inks including Chinese brushes and dip pen drawing techniques, book-making using accordion and hard backs techniques, and fun contour portraits. This class naturally sparks engaging dialogue and is set to the backdrop of a mix of musical genres to help inspire further creativity.

Each class meets for two hours.
