Adult Art: Creating Comics

Class Description
Comic book stories have a basic, clear format that make them loved by all ages and backgrounds. In this course, students will focus on a wide variety of ways to create the stories we love and the stories we tell. Strategies for generating plot, characters, and setting from traditional to experimental will be introduced and developed. The interaction of panel composition, flow, timing, and rhythm will be explored and discussed through contemporary examples. Each week, students will focus on and practice a different story-making element. This class series will examine the theories behind storytelling using practical exercises to help students recognize and use the components of a good story. All supplies included!
