Adult Art: Collage Canon

Class Description

In this exploratory collage class, students discover playful and impactful ways to show their visual and conceptual ideas. Through traditional and experimental techniques participants learn about proportion, color, and contrast within imagery.

Both found objects/materials and constructed images are used to create large and visually striking works.

About the instructor: Tom Thoune
Tom Thoune is a celebrated local mosaic and multimedia artist whose work can be found throughout the Charlotte area. His current interests include exploring the human canon (body proportions) as a way to connect with his personal experience and physicality. Join him in this class that focuses on thinking like an artist and developing a curiosity for materials and methods.

This adult art class begins April 18 and meets for six weeks on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. at the new Arts+ Uptown location!
