Daniel Ferreira

Born in Hollywood, FL, Daniel Ferreira showed an interest in music at an early age and was gifted his first drum kit at the age of 10. He immediately fell in love with the instrument and joined the band in middle and high school, where he was a part of the marching band, percussion ensemble, wind ensemble, and jazz band. He went on to win multiple superior awards at the state level and first place at competitions. Daniel has also competed with the WGI indoor percussion ensemble Revelation Percussion and was a semi-finalist at the 2017 Percussion World Championships in Dayton, Ohio.

Daniel's degree is in Music Performance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte having studied under the guidance of professor Rick Dior.

Daniel has been performing as a freelance musician in the greater Charlotte since 2017. From playing in local restaurants and bars to taking the stage at Harrah's Casino in Cherokee, NC, his talents have also taken him to Greenville, SC, Bowling Green, KT, and Knoxville, TN. He has also performed abroad in Vancouver and France.  He is currently the percussionist in residence with Providence First Baptist Church and can be seen performing throughout the South East with the Marcel Portilla Band, a Latin cover band that uses a fusion and rock twist on Latin classics. Daniel is also active in the jazz scene and plays in various jazz trios/quartets.
